rain Glittering
drops Echoing
back into my heart I stir
my sadness in a bitter coffee cup The
near dawn bus A
legal entrant steps onto it searching Near
tears for a seat On a
bus forever without passengers O, for
twenty-five years she is still near tears Looking
for a place to stop In a
city That
still sees out-of-season rains Blossoming
white like your teeth Where
I still go in search of a shelter Together
with the migratory birds April It rains
without stop The
rain washes over memories of asphalt roads where bubbles burst I talk
to the black driver about a homeland that is far truly far away About
white rains that blanket the sky in my home country About
long gone childhood summer days where I use to bathe in the rain About
leaking verandahs of life And
now I sit
shriveled in an empty bus Next
to a stranger of a man who likes to talk about flares Illuminating
a sky filled with darkness About
dream stars that never rise And
now I also only want to cry And he sits there yawning discreetly In a
city where millions of lights never go out In a
place where face-to-face for a quarter century I still feel alien April Pebbles
of my land Are
